It is situated in the Dogubeyazit District of Agri. The most important characteristic of the Ömeraga Fort and necropolis is the recovery of the Bianili ceramics in Urartian red from the graves in the necropolis, which are usually found in the important Urartian fortresses. It can be explained by use of local features in the Urartian burial traditions. The illicit diggings in the fortress and the necropolis area resulted in heavy destruction. Analysis of the architectural elements and sherds from the fortress and the necropolis showed that it belongs to the Middle Iron Age. In 2006, it was surveyed again by A. Özfirat al. and the graves were analized. The traditional Kurgan type of burials observed at Agri-Igdir was also observed inside Ömeraga necropolis. There are single burials underneath piles of untouched small rubbles inside the kurgans at this location. The rectangular planned graves are encompassed by walls consisting of two-three courses of stones; these were covered by two to four large size cover stones. Coded K73/1 [Özfırat 2008:202-203]. In the summit of the rectangular planned fortress, there is a temple probably dedicated to God Haldi. The monumental gate, which is accessible through a monumental ramp located towards the valley, and the city walls were preserved up to 2 m height [Özfirat 2015:214].
