The cave is located at the bottom of a big calcareous hill close to Izmirlik Picnic Area in Gökdere Village of Bornova District of Izmir. It starts with an entrance of 1 m diameter and extends horizontally about 50 m. At the 6th m of the cave; a small siphon forms in rainy seasons. After this siphon the cave become rather narrow and continues with very tight passages. It opens to a room with 3-4 m width and 1 m roof height at an elevation of +10 m high from the entrance level. The cave continues with different depths in some places above or below the entrance level up to this room. One of the branches coming after the room cannot be entered and it is observed that the other one is finishing in 6 m. The cave is very poor in decorations and its floor is covered with thin-grained sand. Water coming over the hill in rainy seasons uses the cave as a passageway. The absence of the lately occurred water exit marks at the entrance of the cave suggests that the water joins the creek near the hill by using the joints below the entrance level. The cave was explored by EMAK in 1999.
